We take great pride in our time-honored Japanese civilization and intend to reconsider Japan as it should be, in a wide and global perspective. At the same time, in order to cope with the sea change that is taking place internationally, we urgently hope to reconstruct Japan, which is now malfunctioning in many sectors of our society.
Consequently, with a view to re-addressing fundamental issues that Japan faces, we have established the Japan Institute for National Fundamentals (JINF).
The Japan Institute for National Fundamentals now has a logo, created by Tadanori Yokoo. Mr. Yokoo is a world-famous graphic designer and painter. He has most graciously accepted President Yoshiko Sakurai’s request to design a logo. According to Mr. Yokoo, the logo symbolizes Magatama, an ancient precious stone, which represents the root of Japanese culture and civilization, in combination with red, the color of the sun in our national flag. Red is also the color of passion and enthusiasm. The Magatama is arranged in the shape of letters JINF, as you may notice. The logo may also bring to mind an animal or a baby crawling; a rather touching image. As a baby grows up sound and strong, we would like to see the JINF grow up big and strong. We have applied for a registered trademark.
