The articles written by Tomiyama were published in “Journal of Indian Ocean Studies”

“Journal of Indian Ocean Studies,” a triannual journal of the Society for Indian Ocean Studies in New Delhi, published articles written by Mr. Yasushi Tomiyama, a planning committee member and senior fellow of the JINF, in its consecutive April and August issues of 2017. The article for the April issue, titled “Japan-India Cooperation Facing Challenges from U.S. and China” examines prospect and possible limitations of Japan-India strategic cooperation facing severe international environment represented by increasingly hegemonic China and the inauguration of unpredictable U.S. administration. (Click here for the draft text of the April article.) The August article, titled “Are U.S. and China Heading for Strategic Rivalry?” analyzes that the United States and China may enter into strategic rivalry competing for international influence as U.S. senior national security officials continue to be vigilant against China while President Trump’s position wavers a lot. (Click here for the draft text of the August article.)
